The Story of élanélan is pronouced (a-lan') in french means: "enthusiastic & distinctive style". When Teresa Sandvig decided to launch a photography company from her San Antonio based studio, our unique style and outgoing personalities made the choice of a company name seem clear. In April 2006, élan Imaging was born. We believe you'll recognize the love and dedication that we put into every one of our portraits & weddings. We hope, through the tradition of portraiture that everyone will continue to share these heirlooms for years to come. Quality and customer satisfaction remain our top priority! We want you to love your new élan portraits as much as we loved creating them for you. On a more personal note:
Teresa
Teresa is originally from Montana, where she was born and raised. She attended the University of Montana (Go Grizzlies), where she earned her degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Management. She met her husband at the University of Montana. After graduation they moved to San Antonio, Texas together so he could attend law school at St. Mary's University.
Teresa started doing photography professionally over six years ago and she has never looked back. Teresa could not image myself being in any other profession! She loves what she does and enjoys meeting a lot of unique people. Teresa has met many great wedding vendors and clients whom have become friends.
Teresa had worked several years for two very well known photographers in the San Antonio wedding industry, before starting her own business venture over three years ago with Photography by Teresa back in 2006. She had been searching for that "perfect" business name and finally decided on élan Imaging.
Teresa thanks everyone who has encouraged her to do what she loves to do and for giving her the strength and courage in herself to go out and do it!
She couldn't be more blessed with this opportunity and talent that she has been given!
Community involvement
We feel it is important to be a part of your community! Teresa has volunteered her
skills for several organizations in San Antonio. Artgives.org is an organization
that is dedicated to keeping art in our children's education. Teresa has also volunteered
at the Humane Society taking pictures of the many animals needing homes,
to help get them adopted.
Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep
Teresa has donated her services to an organization called:
Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. This is a way to share her talents with her
community and to help a family create a lifetime of memories, in only
moments. She provides her time in order to help families begin to heal their
broken hearts. The death of an infant happens more than anybody cares
to talk about. She donates her time and services to helping families who are
experiencing the loss of an infant, and provide them with images that
will last them for a life time to help them remember their precious angels
that visited them on this earth for such a short period of time.
This is a very emotional time in a family’s life that we are documenting
and it is very hard to see the pain and sorrow that these families are
going through, but its well worth it to give that family a lasting image
of their child to be remembered by!

You have a very creative eye and a natural talent for capturing the moment. We greatly appreciate your contribution to help support arts education in San Antonio.
